How Do I Maintain My Handbag?

Take care of your handbag and you will enjoy it for seasons to come. Cleaning in an appropriate matter suitable for the material is important. Using a soft damp cloth for most materials is sufficient. The use of leather care products for the fine leather pieces is suggested.

Hardware, zippers, closures and embellishments are designed to function for the needs of most women. On those occasions that require carrying the weight of a kitchen sink, may we suggest a wheeled suitcase to save the stitching and finish of your bag, along with the weight of the world on your shoulder (just looking out for your best interests!).

How Do I Maintain My Jewellery?

Treat your jewels right and they will look beautiful for many years to come. Regular cleaning and inspection of settings and maintenance is required for all jewellery, especially for those pieces that are worn on a daily basis. These should be cleaned and checked every month.

Gold is a pliable metal and some stones are delicate. With normal wear, the finish will diminish, but can be reapplied as part of your normal maintenance routine. Cleaning your jewellery on a regular basis is key, but only use cleaners recommended for cleaning.

Hairsprays, perfumes and creams must not be applied while wearing jewellery, as this will harm pearls and some stones. For those that have lab treatments, do not use toothpaste or baking soda as this is too abrasive.

As much as we love jewellery, it should not be worn 24/7. It should be the the first thing we take off and last thing we put on.

How Do I Clean Stone, Crystals, Silver and Pearls?

These items should be cleaned using a dry cloth, excluding pearls and other natural stones.
Pieces can be briefly dipped into a cleaning solution, but must be scrubbed clean immediately with a brush, soap and water and polished with a clean dry cloth.

Prevention of tarnish is key. Never keep your jewellery in the bathroom as humidity can be damaging (especially on watches).

Storing your jewellery in individual bags with an interlocking seal will make it less prone to the natural tarnishing process and keep your chains from tangling.
